About Bovine TB
Testing & movements
It is a legal requirement to provide reasonable TB testing facilities.
Cattle are injected with avian and bovine tuberculin in the neck on day one of the skin test, with the reading of the test 72 (+/- four) hours later on day two. To be able to carry out the skin test, the animal must be safely restrained and the Official Veterinarian (OV) must have clear access to the neck of the animal.
